Wi-Fi home audio or Bluetooth?
Bluetooth means a direct connection to a compatible device. For AirPlay 2 or Google Cast, compare Model One Digital Gen. 3 and Model Two Digital. The former has a radio tuner; the latter is a speaker without one. Boutique is a small Bluetooth speaker with AUX and charging outputs for other devices, without Wi-Fi.
Start with your music source
Check whether your phone, computer or music service supports the intended casting method. AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are not generic names for Wi-Fi: the exact device and source must support them. Some services may require their own subscription.
Before connecting several rooms
Model One Digital Gen. 3 does not connect over Wi-Fi to ART Gen. 1. Record every device’s model and generation before buying a second speaker. The same product name may use a different platform across generations. For example, record which device will start the music and where you will listen. Then check compatibility for each pair of devices. This makes your Wi-Fi home audio choice specific to your own setup.
Placement and network
Follow the exact model’s setup instructions and check signal stability at the intended position. If there is a problem, test nearer the router and confirm the phone and speaker are on the correct network. Record the current setup before resetting.
